Client: Vulcan Real Estate
Completed: 2011

This 3/4-block development is comprised of two 12-story office buildings for Amazon.com in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. The architectural character of the buildings was carefully crafted to reflect the neighborhood’s industrial heritage and Amazon.com’s functional aesthetic and a desire for a variety of social gather spaces. Distinguishing features include a through-block hill climb connection, sky bridge linkage, operable windows and the historic preservation of the Terry Avenue Building, which is now home to three Tom Douglas restaurant venues.  The project was honored with a 2012 Seattle Design Commission award as well as one of only 12 global recipients of ULI’s 2013 Global Awards for Excellence as part of Amazon.com’s SLU campus.  Read about it here.
