O
ur client brought in Graphite to correct and update a full floor for their executives and accounting groups. This space had not been updated in many years and they were looking for a modern expression, with some mid-century elements woven into the design solution. The direction we took on the project was to maintain authenticity to the architecture and building structure and materials. Our execution used the finishes and upholstery to reference the mid-century look and the forms, while staying clean and modern.
Illuminating design
The lobby illuminates the introduction to the floor, circular lighting with a teak wood grid, defines the ceiling plain, and spreads its presence in the surrounding reflections on the surrounding glass walls.
The 'Center Of Energy' area is the hub of the office. The nautical-inspired floor sets the table for splashes of color, intensified by the linear skylight that extends the length of the room. The ceiling around the skylight is highlighted by the texture of the “salmon” (acoustical ceiling elements) swimming upstream, accented by enhanced lighting. The COE also contains a well-appointed kitchen and service areas to support multiple seating zones and bar arrangement.
